Meet a Seminarian
Connecting with Landry Weber back in July before the summer ended, I learned about his vocational story and some of the unique circumstances he dealt with in the course of discerning seminary life. As he prepared to enter his fourth year of seminary (Configuration Stage), Landry was enthused about beginning formal study of theology. Read his story inside.
Bob Rooney is a "senior" seminarian. Like many other priests-in-the-making whose vocation story involves a response to God's call a bit later in life than post-high school or college, Bob was an attorney for 30 years prior to his entry into seminary. Look inside for Bob's vocation story, and his perspectives about seminary life and transitional diaconate ordination, which he anticipates in May 2025.
John Donart, Pre-Theology II at St. John Vianney Theological Seminary in Denver, CO, is a 2015 graduate of St. James Academy in Lenexa, KS. With a degree from KU in Geography, John's vocation was shaped both by his family and by the witness of priests and seminarians he has known. Son of John and Lisa Donart of Shawnee, KS, John enjoys making rosaries in his spare time. His story follows.
