At a September 2025 monthly membership meeting, Fr. Francis Hund shared his vocation story. Read on for an inspiring account of what drew Fr. Francis to a priestly vocation.
Connecting with Landry Weber back in July before the summer ended, I learned about his vocational story and some of the unique circumstances he dealt with in the course of discerning seminary life. As he prepared to enter his fourth year of seminary (Configuration Stage), Landry was enthused about beginning formal study of theology. Read his story inside.
We connected at Pilgrim Coffee in south Overland Park on a warm July 2025 morning. (There is a theme here: coffee and conversation with a seminarian!) Andrew Cunningham shared his vocation story - and some great pearls of wisdom - over a cup of Joe. An hour whizzed by and I bid him goodbye, thanking the Lord for the opportunity to connect. Read Andrew's story!
In July 2025, seminarians Drew Stanley and Jimmy Mendoza undertook a pilgrimage to California to close out the summer's experience prior to returning to seminary life and to explore a part of the country where neither had previously traveled, seeking God's presence in every encounter. Before departure, the men requested prayer intentions from Serrans, which they carried with them during their travels. They were in for more than a few surprises. Read the story of their experience!

May God grant me the ability to strive for humility like the Canaanite woman.
The 82nd Annual Serra International Convention will unfold in Kansas City, June 26 - 29, 2025. The venue for the event is the Marriott Downtown Look inside for early details and a link to the convention's website - being curated by a group of local Serrans.
Bob Rooney is a "senior" seminarian. Like many other priests-in-the-making whose vocation story involves a response to God's call a bit later in life than post-high school or college, Bob was an attorney for 30 years prior to his entry into seminary. Look inside for Bob's vocation story, and his perspectives about seminary life and transitional diaconate ordination, which he anticipates in May 2025.
At certain times in life, God pierces the heart and soul with wisdom. Some years ago, I learned about "letting Jesus love me" moments. These involve focus. Not that national campus ministry organization (FOCUS) but . . . focus - on the things at hand at the very moment. Read on for more.
A response to the Vocational Call to Holiness is to "do whatever He tells you." Read on for a reflection of Mary's words to the servants at the Wedding Feast of Cana.
