Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas

Dear friends:

Jesus reminded his disciples as he reminds us, "The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest." (Lk 10:2) The Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas has been blessed with many vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life since its founding as the Diocese of Leavenworth on May 22, 1877. While the need for vocations is perennial, never has it been greater than it is today.

In 2021, our friends, Don and Janice Arth, together with the Catholic Foundation of Northeast Kansas (CFNEK), founded the Heart to Heart Scholarship Fund for the purpose of helping ease the financial burdens often associated with answering a call to the priesthood and consecrated religious life. Motivated by God's generosity and Don's recollection of his own vocation story [see video below], Don and Janice were inspired to give back to Jesus Christ and His Church through this beneficent gesture.

Also in 2021, the Vocation Office inaugurated The Master's Cup as a way of gathering young people discerning vocations, seminarians, priests, religious, and lay faithful alike around golf, a meal, and the Master Himself, Jesus Christ, to build relationships that help foster vocations in our Archdiocese, while generating financial resources for the Heart to Heart Scholarship Fund. Attended by nearly 200 people each year for the first two years, with almost half of the attendees being young people, The Master's Cup is proving a great success!

Excited to have you be part of this great event, we invite you to join us on Monday, July 10, for this year's edition of The Master's Cup. Consider a sponsorship, registering a team for golf, or simply joining us for the lunch portion of the event. You will be inspired by the great things happening in the world of vocations in teh Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas!

Sincerely,
