Each year in December, the Vocations Office of the Archdiocese hosts a weekend vocation discernment experience for high school men (Juniors and Seniors). The event is called Quo Vadis, which translates, "What is Truth?" It was the question Pontius Pilate asked Jesus just prior to handing Jesus over to be crucified.
It is an important question with which we all need, from time to time, to spend time in reflection and prayer, especially in today's culture where "truth" is regularly defined as the equivalent of someone's opinion.
The weekend is December 19-21, 2025.
Hosted by the Vocations Office, the retreat is championed by priests and by current seminarians who devote their time to interacting with, and supporting the experience of the attendees. Priests and seminarians will deliver instruction and personal vocations stories to retreatants throughout the weekend.
As Serrans, we have a twofold means of support: 1) our prayers for the discerners, the seminarians, and the priests involved in the weekend; and 2) our support in creating the WORLD'S GREATEST SNACK TABLE!
Begin your prayer effort now and carry it through the weekend event. Offer a Hail Mary or an Our Father every day. Go to daily Mass one time (or more) for the intention of the event.
This year, we're joining forces with area Serra Clubs to provide continuous adoration throughout the 42-hour weekend retreat. Prayer, as you well know, is the primary work of a Serran. We will intercede for the intentions of the retreatants and the for the men facilitating the retreat. Adoration can be done in your parish church. If you don't have access to an adoration chapel at your church, let us know (email admin@jocoserra.org) and we will get you connected.
