Event Information
The 11th Annual Pitching for Priests game will be played at Legends Field on Friday evening, June 21, 2024. First pitch is slated for 7:00 PM.
Experience a great evening rooting for Archkck/Kansas priests and seminarians as they take on priests and seminarians from the Diocese of Kansas City/St. Joseph, MO. 
Join the JOCO Serra Club tailgate in the parking lot after 4:00 PM. Burgers and dogs will be served at 5:30 PM.
Click the green "Register Now" button or email your intent to join the tailgate to admin@jocoserra.org and let us know how many in your party. We will be supply the burgers and hot dogs and we ask that you bring a side dish and/or a dessert to share. Check the Monday Memo in your email Inbox for details.
Known at the "I-435 Series," this summer classic is sure to be a great time for fans and teams alike!
This year's event is free to the public. Catholic Radio Network hosts the event, and welcomes a free will donation along with your registration for free tickets here.
For those unfamiliar with Pitching for Priests, the rules for this game are somewhat different than your typical softball game. It’s slow pitch and 10 men bat each inning, no matter what happens otherwise in any inning. That dynamic makes for some interesting gameplay. For priests, the game is a rare chance to get together for camaraderie and competition. Returning this year: the Home Run Derby!
Here is the full schedule of events for the evening:
4:00 pm - Tailgating in the parking lot
6:00 pm - Stadium gates open
6:15 pm - Home Run Derby
6:30 pm - Kids Run (on the field)
6:40 pm - Introduction of players and seminarians
6:45 pm - Opening prayer by bishops
6:50 pm - National Anthem
7:00 pm - First Pitch
9:00 pm - Game over
