Quo Vadis

Friday, December 20, 2024 at 6:00 PM

Each year in December, the Vocations Office of the Archdiocese hosts a weekend vocation discernment experience for high school men (Juniors and Seniors). The event is called Quo Vadis, which translates, "What is Truth?" It was the question Pontius Pilate asked Jesus just prior to handing Jesus over to be crucified.

It is an important question with which we all need, from time to time, to spend time in reflection and prayer, especially in today's culture where "truth" is regularly defined as the equivalent of someone's opinion.

The weekend is December 20-22, 2024. Hosted by the Vocations Office, the retreat is championed by our current seminarians who devote their time to interacting with, and supporting the experience of the attendees.

As Serrans, we have a twofold means of support: 1) our prayers for the discerners, the seminarians, and the priests involved in the weekend; and 2) our support in creating the GREATEST SNACK  TABLE in America.

Begin your prayer effort now and carry it through the weekend event. Offer a Hail Mary or an Our Father every day. Go to daily Mass one time (or more) for the intention of the event. This year, we're joining forces with Serra KCK to provide continuous adoration throughout the 44-hour weekend retreat for the intentions of the retreatants and the men facilitating the retreat. Sign up to make a Holy Hour at your parish church, before the Blessed Sacrament, for the sake of the discernment experience.

Click the green "Volunteer Now" button above and sign up to spend an hour in adoration or donate snacks for the weekend, or both!  We will contact you to work out details!
